Connect Azure Repos
Azure Repos on dev.azure.com is a code host for Tiden, alongside GitHub and GitLab. Tiden reads your repositories through your Microsoft account. A pull request that completes into the default branch flows into Tiden like a GitHub merge, and Tiden updates the affected specs (Reverse PRs). Linked pull requests show review, checks and merge status.
One Azure DevOps connection serves both Azure Boards (work items) and Azure Repos.
Tiden supports Azure DevOps Services on dev.azure.com. Azure DevOps Server (on-premises) is not supported.
Requirements
- The Azure DevOps organization is connected to Microsoft Entra ID, with work or school accounts. Personal Microsoft accounts (outlook.com and similar), and organizations backed by them, are not supported.
- The user who signs in has the Basic access level or higher. A Stakeholder user sees no repositories. Tiden shows a message that says so.
- To register the merge webhook (a service hook), the user has project administrator rights in the project. Without them, Tiden still picks up completed pull requests with a periodic scan. They arrive later.
Connect a repository
- In onboarding, pick Azure DevOps.
- Authorize with Microsoft.
- Pick repositories from all your Azure DevOps organizations. Tiden shows each one as
org / project / repo.
If you connected Azure DevOps for Boards
Tiden asks you to consent again so it can read code. If access is missing, Tiden shows Reconnect Azure DevOps. Select it and authorize again.
Repository ID
The CLI and specs identify an Azure Repos repository as:
dev.azure.com/<org>/<project>/<repo>
HTTPS, SSH and legacy *.visualstudio.com remotes all map to this ID.
